Ethics Teachers Training Course in China
UNESCO is organizing an Ethics Teachers Training Course (ETTC) in Macau, China, from 17 to 21 July 2017. Hosted by the Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, this ETTC is aimed at strengthening the pedagogical capacity of university teachers in the fields of social and environmental ethics.
Approximately 30 university teachers are expected to benefit from this training, facilitated by Professor Leonardo de Castro of the University of the Philippines, Professor. Muzaherul Huq of the World Federation for Medical Education, Professor Pascale Rangoni of the International School of Prague, and Professor Alice Tsang of the Kiang Wu Nursing College.
The four-day training program is developed by UNESCO in collaboration with global experts in ethics education. The course contains the following key components:
1. Global Perspectives on Ethics Teaching
2. Ethics Teaching in Action
3. Classroom activities and communication
4. Examples of ethics teaching in Asia and local adaptation
Applicants should be involved in teaching (including ethics, life, social and environmental ethics) or developing bioethics courses at university level, with preferably a Masters’ degree in a related discipline and must be able to communicate fully in English.
